the final verdict

Well, after months of ear problems and weeks of waiting for an appointment, we finally saw the ear, nose, and throat doctor today. Of course, Claire's ears were nice and clear today since she just got a shot of Rocephrin 2 days ago. She sat still like a big girl during the hearing tests and we were relieved to find out that she has suffered no permanent hearing loss. The doctor did say that her ears looked like they were about to be infected again and with her history of ear infections, especially ones that take several rounds of medication to resolve he decided that putting tubes in was our best option. We basically already knew that, but just needed him to confirm it. So, we will be going in next Wedesday, February 4th, first thing in the morning. We've been told the entire procedure (anesthesia, surgery, and recovery) takes around an hour total so it's pretty quick. I'm extremely nervous, but at the same relieved that something is finally being done and my sweet ClaireBear won't have to deal with these problems anymore!
