During our vacation my mom texted me saying my Nanny (grandma) was taken via ambulance to their local ER. Over the next few hours her condition went from seemingly nothing to a major medical issue that was very scary. They ended up air-lifting her from Borger to Amarillo and immediately performed emergency surgery in attempt to repair an aneurysm the size of a grapefruit that had developed and ruptured on her aorta in her abdomen area. The doctors and nurses have told her several times that very few people survive this sort of ordeal and what a miracle she was. We are truly truly thankful that she is still here today and will be celebrating her 72nd birthday next month! She is currently still in a rehab facility recovering. I saw her yesterday and she was in good spirits!
During this ordeal, they also discovered cancer on one of her kidneys, but are unable to do anything about it at this point until she is completely recovered from her surgery. We are confident in her and know how strong she is! We love you Nanny!
